Gasoline Blending Plus

|
ASTM Distillation Loss High distillation loss occurs when the gasoline contains butane with insufficient pentane to hold back the butane. Effects of isobutane, normal butane and pentanes are quantified in a 1992 OGJ article . (Reference 8) The percentage of C4+C5 in a blend was found to be tracked closely by the ASTM Distillation % Evaporated at 149°F. For low RVP gasolines, % loss should not be a problem except perhaps for a blend of alkylate and heavy reformate pressurized with isobutane. |
