Gasoline Blending Plus

Applying Octane Interaction Equations

The main payoff from interaction equations is in optimization of the compositions of the different gasoline grades.  In some cases, blending values must be input to the linear program (LP) but must be changed when compositions change significantly.  Those experienced in using LP's know that it may require many steps to match blending values and compositions.

It is much better to input the interaction equations and have the LP carry out those steps.  Generally, LP's that take inventory into account will work from the interaction equations.

In case a new component is added or being considered or if component octane levels change significantly, BLENOC should be rerun to obtain new interaction coefficients.
